Why We Choose Planet Over Profit

For myself I have been on a journey with my family to improve our health. I am the owner of Central Plains Tea & Coffee Co and my name is Eva I have had "Fibromyalgia" from the age of 13. By the time I was 21 the pain was so bad I could not do anything. Over time and work with physiatrist I realized that what I was eating was not helping me. Slowly I learned to cook and we eliminated the "pre-made" "processed" "fake food" for homecooked. This did help and I was able to function get my associates degree and raise the kids. Unfortunately this was just the beginning of the adventure in health one of our kids was diagnosed with cancer and so we changed our eating habits again and did our best to go "organic" and boy did it cost money and we noticed positive changes in the family's health and wellbeing. Not long after the cancer was cured we had a number of events happen that clarified for me that the food I was eating was not giving me what I needed. This is where a life long love and respect for nature came out of the closet and said hey lets work together. To keep the post short for now we can always go in to more depth I'll move on. I felt this need to grow my own food and even being in an apartment was not stopping me. Just to clarify I only got some fingerling potato's out of this and began looking to move thought I had other reasons to move I was driven to have a garden. After months of looking and not finding anything and then one day a house that we had seen before was available and we took it and ended up in the Central Plains. This was the birth of was is now The Central Plains Garden this garden has always been 100% natural I do not use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or any other cides. I use other options to address garden pests. I practice renewable, regeneration management in my garden. There is no exception so when I started Central Plains Tea & Coffee Co with the exact same objective. This year is number 3 and we are expanding the garden but the big thing to know is I feel better than I have in many years and my bad days one maybe two a month. Do I plan on growing this garden yes just like Central Plains Tea & Coffee Co. I intend to provide the same expectations on my products as I do my garden.

For the past thirteen years, I've lived with Fibromyalgia. By age twenty-one, the pain had become so severe that I could barely function. It wasn't until I started working with a physiatrist that I realized the connection between what I was eating and how I felt. Slowly, my family and I began replacing processed foods with home-cooked meals—and everything changed.

When one of our children was diagnosed with cancer, we made another shift. We committed to organic food, despite the cost. The results were undeniable: our family's health and wellbeing improved dramatically. After the cancer was cured, I found myself drawn to something deeper—a realization that I needed to reconnect with nature itself, not just consume what nature provided.

That's when I decided to grow my own food. Even living in an apartment didn't stop me from trying. Eventually, we found a house in the Central Plains with space for a real garden—and that garden became the foundation for everything I believe in today.

Building a Garden Without Compromise

The Central Plains Garden operates on a single principle: one hundred percent natural. We don't use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or any synthetic chemicals. Instead, we've learned to work with nature, addressing garden pests through alternative methods and practicing regenerative management that builds soil health year after year.

When I started Central Plains Tea & Coffee Co, I brought that same philosophy with me. There are no exceptions, no shortcuts, and no compromises between profit and planet.

Three Years In, and Just Getting Started

This is our third year in business, and I feel better than I have in many years. My bad days—the ones when Fibromyalgia flares—have dropped to just one or two a month. That's not a coincidence. It's the result of choosing quality, intention, and respect for nature in every decision we make.

We're expanding the garden. We're growing the business. But the mission stays the same: to provide products that meet the same standards I hold my own garden to. Because at Central Plains Tea & Coffee Co, we believe that taking care of the planet and taking care of ourselves aren't separate goals—they're the same one.
